How it works

1. Activate Karn's first loyalty ability by putting a loyalty counter on it, causing Caged Sun to become an artifact creature until end of turn.
2. Activate Caged Sun by tapping it, adding .
3. Caged Sun triggers, adding .
4. Repeat step 3.
5. As Caged Sun's triggered ability is a mana ability, this combo creates a mandatory infinite loop that cannot be interacted with, thus ending the game in a draw.

This fascinating and dangerous loop hinges on Ashaya, Soul of the Wild turning every nontoken creature you control into a Forest land, which cleverly wraps Caged Sun into the land-mana ecosystem. Once Caged Sun is named green as it enters, its passive ability normally doubles mana from lands, but when Karn, the Great Creator animates Caged Sun into an artifact creature with his +1 ability, it ironically remains a land due to Ashaya. Tapping this newly animated Caged Sun for green mana triggers its own ability to add another green mana, which in turn triggers it infinitely—creating an un-interactable mana-ability loop that forces a game draw.
