How it works

1. Cast Stonework Puma by paying 3.
2. When Stonework Puma enters, Haru triggers, targeting Stonework Puma as it is a land due to Toph.
3. Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing Stonework Puma.
4. When Stonework Puma dies, Haru triggers, returning Stonework Puma from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
5. When Stonework Puma enters, Haru triggers, targeting Stonework Puma as it is a land due to Toph.
6. Resolve the Trenching Steed ability.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop relies on Toph, the First Metalbender to fundamentally transform your noncreature artifacts into lands, making your colorless creatures like Stonework Puma vulnerable to the very land-sacrifice demands of Trenching Steed. Once the Puma is sacrificed, its death triggers Haru, Hidden Talent to return it safely to the battlefield tapped, instantly triggering Haru's earthbend ability all over again. Because Toph simultaneously keeps the returning Puma typed as a land, it becomes a legal target for Haru's triggers, creating a seamless, self-sustaining cycle of sacrifices and returns.
