How it works

  1. Cast Cauldron Familiar by paying B mana.
  2. When Cauldron Familiar enters, it and Weapons Manufacturing trigger.
  3. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
  4. Resolve the Weapons Manufacturing trigger, creating a Munitions artifact token.
  5. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
  6. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing the Munitions, as it is a Food due to Ragost.
  7. The Munitions triggers, dealing 2 damage to any target.
  8. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  9. Repeat from step 2.

This loop turns a humble cat into an infinite engine of death and taxes, powered entirely by a clever restructuring of your permanent types through Biotransference and Ragost, Deft Gastronaut. Because Biotransference makes your creature spells and cards into artifacts, casting Cauldron Familiar creates a continuous loop where entering the battlefield triggers Weapons Manufacturing to spit out a Munitions token, which Ragost graciously turns into a legitimate Food. You can then use Umbral Collar Zealot to sacrifice Cauldron Familiar—feeding its own resurrection ability by treating the newly minted Munitions (now a Food) as the required snack. Each time the Munitions leaves the battlefield to feed the cat, its own ability triggers to deal 2 damage, while the cat's repeated entries drain opponents and gain life, easily satisfying Ragost's end-step untap condition to keep the gears turning indefinitely.
