How it works

1. Activate Cabal Stronghold by paying 3 and tapping it, adding at least six .
2. Activate Emiel by paying 3, blinking Derevi.
3. When Derevi enters the battlefield, it triggers, untapping Cabal Stronghold.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant loop turns Emiel the Blessed into a dedicated engine by leveraging Derevi, Empyrial Tactician's enter-the-battlefield trigger to constantly untap Cabal Stronghold. Once you have enough basic Swamps in play to fuel the Stronghold's heavy mana activation cost, Emiel's blink ability becomes self-sustaining and generates an endless surplus of black mana. Every iteration of this cycle resets Cabal Stronghold for the next activation while repeatedly triggering Derevi, allowing you to flood your mana pool and trigger any other enter-the-battlefield effects you might need.
