How it works

1. Defeat Invasion of Amonkhet
2. Invasion of Amonkhet triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
3. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Kaslem that is a 4/4 Zombie.
4. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Lazotep Convert.
5. When Lazotep Convert dies, it triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
6. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Kaslem that is a 4/4 Zombie.
7. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
8. Repeat from step 4.

This clever loop turns Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into a relentless engine by exploiting the clever clone nature of Lazotep Convert (the back face of Invasion of Amonkhet). Because Lazotep Convert enters as a copy of Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth, it retains the valuable Ojer Kaslem death trigger that returns it to the battlefield transformed—which instantly lets you recast and flip it right back into Lazotep Convert to copy Ojer Kaslem anew. By sacrificing the cloned Ojer Kaslem to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, you fuel its mass-reanimation ability while generating an endless stream of Blood tokens and death triggers.
