How it works
Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Hogaak.
When Hogaak dies, The Skullspore Nexus and Zahur trigger, creating two creature tokens.
Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing you to mill eight cards.
Cast Hogaak from your graveyard by exiling five cards from your graveyard and tapping two black and/or green creatures you control.
Repeat.
This loop hinges on Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis's unique ability to be cast directly from the graveyard without spending mana, using its convoke and delve mechanics instead. By sacrificing Hogaak to Altar of Dementia, you mill your library while triggering Zahur, Glory's Past and The Skullspore Nexus to replace the sacrificed horror with fresh tokens. Those newly created tokens—alongside cards exiled from your graveyard—then pay the delve and convoke costs required to cast Hogaak right back out of the graveyard, letting you repeat the cycle indefinitely.
