How it works

1. Cast Basking Broodscale by paying 1.
2. When Basking Broodscale enters, Support Mission triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale.
3. Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a 0/1 Eldrazi Spawn creature token.
4. When the Eldrazi Spawn enters, Support Mission triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the Eldrazi Spawn.
5. Activate the Eldrazi Spawn by sacrificing it, adding C.
6. When the Eldrazi Spawn dies, Host of the Hereafter triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop centers around Basking Broodscale, which triggers to create an Eldrazi Spawn whenever it receives a +1/+1 counter. Support Mission acts as the initial catalyst, ensuring that both Basking Broodscale and every newly birthed token enter with the counters needed to jumpstart the engine. As those tokens are sacrificed for colorless mana, Host of the Hereafter steps in to recycle their counters right back onto Basking Broodscale, perpetually satisfying its adapt-like condition without ever needing to spend mana.
