How it works

  1. Activate Chromatic Orrery's first ability by tapping it, adding 5.
  2. Cast Mind Games with buyback by paying 4, targeting Chromatic Orrery.
  3. Orvar's first ability triggers, creating a token copy of Chromatic Orrery.
  4. Resolve Mind Games, returning it to your hand.
  5. Repeat.
  6. Once you have infinite mana, you may instead activate the Chromatic Orrery tokens using their second abilities, or target any other permanent.

This loop is a masterclass in turning a humble utility spell into an engine of absolute replication, anchored entirely by the legendary mythics on your board. With Sakashima of a Thousand Faces in play bypassing the legend rule, your clones and copies can multiply unchecked, allowing Orvar, the All-Form to trigger its copying ability whenever you target your own permanents. You fuel this entire cycle by targeting Chromatic Orrery with Mind Games; because the Orrery taps for five generic mana, it easily pays for the spell's {4} total cost while letting you spend that mana as though it were any color. As Mind Games repeatedly bounces itself back to your hand via buyback, Orvar quietly floods the board with token copies of Chromatic Orrery, turning a simple tap-and-untap interaction into infinite mana, infinite card draw, and an endlessly expanding army of permanents.
