How it works

1. Cast Whim of Volrath with buyback by paying 2, targeting Spark Double.
2. Orvar triggers, creating a token copy of Spark Double that enters the battlefield as a nonlegendary token copy of Orvar.
3. Resolve Whim of Volrath, returning it to your hand.
4. Cast Whim of Volrath with buyback by paying 2, targeting any Island that enters the battlefield untapped.
5. Orvar, Spark Double and the Spark Double token trigger, creating three token copies of the Island.
6. Resolve Whim of Volrath, returning it to your hand.
7. Activate the Island tokens by tapping them, adding .
8. Repeat from step 4.
9. Optionally, you may repeat steps 1 through 3 one additional time to get infinite untapped Island tokens and blue mana.
10. If you choose to get infinite mana, you can then target any permanent using Whim of Volrath to get infinite tokens of them.

This clever loop turns a modest text-changer into an army of magical clones by weaponizing Orvar, the All-Form's triggered ability. By casting Whim of Volrath with its buyback cost, you ensure the spell constantly returns to your hand while letting Orvar spawn a token copy of Spark Double—which neatly bypasses the legend rule by entering as a nonlegendary copy of Orvar itself. Once you have this critical mass of Orvar triggers on the stack, retargeting an untapped Island with Whim of Volrath multiplies your mana production exponentially with every iteration. From there, you can sustain the buyback loop indefinitely to flood the board with infinite mana, infinite land drops, and infinite copies of any permanent you desire.
