How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Soul's Attendant triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Soul's Attendant trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Soul's Attendant trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever self-sustaining loop relies on a massive reduction in casting costs to cycle a single creature through your hand and the battlefield indefinitely. With Helm of Awakening and Defiler of Faith both lowering costs and allowing you to pay life instead of white mana, Whitemane Lion can be cast repeatedly for free. Every time the Lion enters the battlefield, its own ability forces it right back to your hand, while Defiler of Faith rewards each cast by spawning a 1/1 white Soldier creature token. As those tokens and the Lion enter, Soul's Attendant triggers endlessly to pad your life total, cushioning the 2 life payments required by the Defiler and fueling an infinite storm count.
