How it works

1. Cast Yawgmoth by paying 2.
2. When Yawgmoth enters the battlefield, Soul's Attendant and Scurry Oak's evolve ability trigger.
3. Holding priority, activate Yawgmoth by paying 1 life and sacrificing a creature, putting a -1/-1 counter on Scurry Oak and causing you to draw a card.
4. Resolve the Soul's Attendant trigger, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Resolve the Scurry Oak trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on it, triggering Scurry Oak's second ability.
6. Holding priority, activate Yawgmoth by paying 1 life and sacrificing a creature, putting a -1/-1 counter on Scurry Oak and causing you to draw a card.
7. Resolve the Scurry Oak trigger, creating a 1/1 Squirrel creature token.
8. When the Squirrel enters the battlefield, Soul's Attendant and Scurry Oak's evolve ability trigger.
9. Repeat from step 4.

This elegant loop transforms Scurry Oak into a self-sustaining engine by playing its +1/+1 counters against Yawgmoth, Thran Physician's -1/-1 counters, neutralizing the stat increases while feeding you cards. Every time the Oak receives a counter, it spawns a fresh Squirrel token, which immediately triggers Soul's Attendant to recover the life you spent as an activation cost for Yawgmoth's sacrifice ability. Because the counters cleanly cancel each other out, you can repeat the process indefinitely to draw through your entire deck, fuel massive aristocrat strategies, and bury your opponents under an endless tide of fur.
