How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Voracious Brood.
2. When Voracious Brood dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
4. Repeat.

To fuel this cycle endlessly, Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn) grants your other nontoken creatures persist, ensuring they immediately crawl back from the dead whenever they perish. The final engine piece is Voracious Brood, whose own death triggers that persist ability—allowing it to return to the battlefield and repeat the process while Shilgengar churns out endless Blood.
