How it works

1. Activate Oni-Cult Anvil by tapping it and sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability and Dross Scorpion trigger.
3. Resolve the Dross Scorpion trigger, untapping Oni-Cult Anvil.
4. Resolve the Lesser Masticore trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with no -1/-1 counters on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
5. Resolve the Oni-Cult Anvil ability, dealing 1 damage to each opponent and causing you to gain 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This loop transforms the humble Lesser Masticore into an immortal engine of destruction by turning its own drawback entirely upside down. Whenever you sacrifice it to Oni-Cult Anvil, Dross Scorpion springs into action to untap the Anvil so you can repeat the process indefinitely. The real magic, however, lies in Vizier of Remedies, whose replacement effect ensures that the -1/-1 counter from persist is entirely prevented—leaving Lesser Masticore free to die, return, and fuel the Anvil's ping-and-gain loop as many times as you desire.
