Infinite landfall triggers
How it works
Play Gruul Turf.
Kodama of the East Tree, Spark Double, and Gruul Turf trigger.
Resolve the Spark Double trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
Resolve the Gruul Turf trigger, returning it to your hand.
Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting Gruul Turf onto the battlefield.
Spark Double and Gruul Turf trigger.
Resolve the Gruul Turf trigger, returning it to your hand.
Resolve the Spark Double token's trigger, putting Gruul Turf onto the battlefield.
Kodama of the East Tree and Gruul Turf trigger.
Repeat from step 5.
This ingenious loop relies on Kodama of the East Tree as its mechanical engine, turning the self-bouncing nature of Gruul Turf into a perpetual motion machine. When Gruul Turf enters the battlefield, its own bounce trigger returns it to your hand, which subsequently allows Kodama of the East Tree's triggered ability to cheat that very same land right back onto the battlefield. To bridge the gap and multiply these triggers, Spark Double enters as a non-legendary copy of Kodama of the East Tree, doubling your triggers and letting you ping-pong Gruul Turf endlessly between hand and field for infinite landfall triggers.
