How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Gruul Turf.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Gruul Turf.
5. When Gruul Turf dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Gruul Turf from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Gruul Turf enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability

This crafty loop turns your entire artifact collection into a self-sustaining engine, powered entirely by Toph, the First Metalbender turning your nontoken artifacts into lands. When you deploy a free artifact, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers its earthbend ability on Gruul Turf, which functions as both the fuel and the bouncer for the combo. Sacrificing that animated land to Carrion Feeder sends it to the graveyard, but Toph, the First Metalbender's built-in safeguard immediately brings it back to the battlefield tapped. That new land entry triggers Gruul Turf's own ability, bouncing the original 0-mana artifact right back to your hand so you can cast it all over again and repeat the cycle infinitely.
