How it works

  1. Play Gruul Turf. When it enters untapped due to Archelos, Gruul Turf and Springheart Nantuko trigger.
  2. Holding priority, activate Gruul Turf by tapping it, adding R manaG mana.
  3. Resolve the Gruul Turf trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  4. Resolve the Springheart Nantuko trigger, causing you to pay 1G mana to create a token copy of Dryad of the Ilysian Grove.
  5. Because of the additional Dryad of the Ilysian Grove token, you can play an additional land this turn.
  6. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on manipulating the battlefield state so that returning your land to your hand happens simultaneously with generating explosive value. With Archelos, Lagoon Mystic in its untapped state ensuring your lands enter the battlefield untapped, playing Gruul Turf immediately triggers both its own bounce ability and the landfall ability of Springheart Nantuko (which is bestowed onto another creature). By floating mana from Gruul Turf in response, you can easily pay for Springheart Nantuko's landfall cost to copy Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. Because Dryad of the Ilysian Grove continuously grants you an additional land drop on each of your turns, you can simply replay the bounced Gruul Turf over and over again to drive an infinite cycle of creature tokens, enter-the-battlefield effects, and landfall triggers.
