How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Gruul Turf.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Coastal Hornclaw by sacrificing Gruul Turf.
5. When Gruul Turf dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Gruul Turf from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Gruul Turf enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Coastal Hornclaw ability
8. Repeat.

This loop turns a free artifact into an infinite engine by leveraging Toph, the First Metalbender's static ability, which cleverly transforms your nontoken artifacts into lands. With that foundation set, you cast your artifact to trigger Toph, Hardheaded Teacher, earthbending Gruul Turf so it can be sacrificed to Coastal Hornclaw. As Gruul Turf hits the graveyard, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher’s replacement or triggered insurance returns it directly to the battlefield tapped, where its own entry trigger bounces the original artifact right back to your hand to start the cycle anew.
