How it works

1. Play Gruul Turf.
2. When Gruul Turf enters the battlefield, it, Emeria Angel, and Kodama of the East Tree trigger.
3. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
4. Resolve the Gruul Turf trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
5. Resolve the Emeria Angel trigger, creating a token.
6. When the token enters the battlefield, Kodama triggers, putting Gruul Turf from your hand onto the battlefield.
7. When Gruul Turf enters the battlefield, it and Emeria Angel trigger.
8. Repeat from step 4.

This loop turns the simple bounce mechanic of Gruul Turf into a self-sustaining engine by utilizing Kodama of the East Tree's triggered ability to cheat the land back into play. Whenever the Turf enters, its own return-to-hand trigger pairs with Emeria Angel's landfall ability, generating a Bird token whose entry triggers Kodama anew. Because the token's mana value (zero) is less than or equal to Gruul Turf's, Kodama allows you to immediately drop the Turf back onto the battlefield from your hand, seamlessly restarting the cycle.
