How it works

1. Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing a nontoken Forest, which is a creature due to Ambush Commander.
2. When the Forest dies, Yedora triggers, returning the Forest from your graveyard to the battlefield face down as a Forest land.
3. Resolve the Trenching Steed ability.
4. Repeat.

This ingenious loop transforms your land-based resources into a perpetual motion machine by turning the battlefield into a revolving door of sacrifice and rebirth. Ambush Commander plays the crucial role of bridging the gap, animating every single Forest you control into a 1/1 green Elf creature so they can be fed into Trenching Steed's sacrifice ability. Each time you sacrifice that land creature, Yedora, Grave Gardener steps in with its wondrous static trigger, rescuing the fallen creature from the graveyard and instantly returning it to the battlefield face down as a fresh, ready-to-be-sacrificed Forest land. Because Trenching Steed requires you to sacrifice a land rather than explicitly a creature, it seamlessly feeds on the animated forests, allowing you to cycle the same piece of land infinitely for boundless sacrifices, leaves-the-battlefield, and landfall triggers.
