How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Ruthless Ripper.
2. When Ruthless Ripper dies, Yedora triggers, returning Ruthless Ripper from your graveyard to the battlefield face down as a Forest land.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Ruthless Ripper's power.
4. Activate Ruthless Ripper by tapping it, adding .
5. Activate Ruthless Ripper's morph ability by revealing a black card from your hand, turning it face up.
6. When Ruthless Ripper is turned face up, it triggers, causing target player to lose 2 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns your graveyard into a revolving door of life drain and deck-milling by turning death into a fresh start. With Yedora, Grave Gardener on the battlefield, sacrificing Ruthless Ripper to Altar of Dementia doesn't spell the end for the assassin; instead, Yedora immediately resurrects it face down as a Forest land. Because it is now a land with its basic land type, you can tap it for green mana and use that very mana to fuel the morph cost to turn Ruthless Ripper face up again—revealing a black card from your hand to pay the alternate cost. Once it's back face up, turning it triggers its life loss ability, and you can repeat the entire process to mill your opponents out entirely and drain away their remaining life.
