How it works

1. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding 6.
2. Activate Basalt Monolith's last ability by paying 3, untapping it.
3. Repeat.

By pairing Basalt Monolith with Mana Reflection, you turn the artifact's own untap cost into a profitable loop. Because Mana Reflection doubles any mana produced by tapping a permanent, tapping Basalt Monolith yields six colorless mana instead of the usual three. You can then spend three of those mana to untap it, leaving you a net profit of three colorless mana each cycle to fuel infinite repetitions.
