How it works

1. Activate Unnatural Selection by paying 1, causing Magmaw to become a Pirate until end of turn.
2. Activate Magmaw by paying 1 and sacrificing another nonland permanent, dealing 1 damage to an opponent.
3. Malcolm triggers, creating a 1/1 Squirrel creature token and a Treasure token.
4. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This ingenious setup transforms the normally fiery Magmaw into an honorary Pirate with the help of Unnatural Selection, allowing its own activated ability to trigger Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator whenever it flings damage at an opponent. Thanks to Chatterfang, Squirrel General lingering on the field, every single Treasure token generated by Malcolm's trigger is immediately met with an accompanying swarm of 1/1 green Squirrel creature tokens. You can then sacrifice those freshly minted tokens to fuel Magmaw's damage output while looping the process indefinitely, turning a modest mana investment into a catastrophic storm of endless triggers and damage.
