How it works
Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Priest of Gix.
When Priest of Gix dies, Rakdos triggers.
Holding priority, activate Haunted Crossroads by paying , putting Priest of Gix from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
Resolve the Rakdos trigger, causing you to exile the top three cards of your library with the ability to play them until your next end step.
Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability from step 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
Cast Priest of Gix from exile by paying at most 2.
Animar triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
When Priest of Gix enters the battlefield, it triggers, adding .
Repeat.
This elegant loop turns a simple sacrifice into a self-sustaining engine fueled by the black mana from Priest of Gix, which produces three black mana upon entering the battlefield to easily cover the re-casting costs. Haunted Crossroads acts as the crucial graveyard-to-library glue, allowing you to cycle the Priest right back to the top of your library so Rakdos, the Muscle can exile it while letting you play it from exile. Meanwhile, Animar, Soul of Elements quietly reduces the cost of that repeated creature spell with every counter it gathers, and Carrion Feeder gives you a free outlet to sacrifice the Priest indefinitely, growing itself massively in the process.
