How it works

1. Activate Dinosaur Headdress' equip ability by paying 2, attaching it to Priest of Gix and causing Priest of Gix to become a copy of Cavalier of Night.
2. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Priest of Gix.
3. When Priest of Gix dies, its second ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. When Priest of Gix enters the battlefield, it triggers, adding .
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
6. Repeat.

This loop cleverly transforms a humble mana dork into an engine of relentless recursion by turning Priest of Gix into a copy of Cavalier of Night using the crafty template of Paleontologist's Pick-Axe // Dinosaur Headdress. Once the altered priest is sacrificed to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, its death triggers the copied Cavalier of Night ability to resurrect itself right back to the battlefield. Each time it returns, the original Priest of Gix ability generates a surplus of black mana to help fund the operation, while Shilgengar keeps stockpiling Blood tokens along the way.
