How it works

  1. Activate Anzrag by paying 3R manaR manaG manaG mana, causing opponents to block Anzrag if able this turn.
  2. Declare Anzrag as an attacker, attacking an opponent who controls a creature.
  3. The opponent is forced to block Anzrag, triggering Anzrag, untapping all creatures you control and causing you to get an additional combat phase after this one.
  4. Any combat damage dealt to Anzrag will not kill it due to Anara giving it indestructible.
  5. Repeat from step 3 each combat phase.

This relentless combination transforms your turn into an endless succession of attacks, fueled by forcing your opponents into a corner. Because Anzrag, the Quake-Mole's activated ability demands that it be blocked each combat if able, every swing guarantees that a block will happen, which in turn triggers its untap and extra combat phase ability over and over again. Meanwhile, Anara, Wolvid Familiar acts as the essential safety net by granting your commanders indestructible on your turn, ensuring that Anzrag can crash into blocking creatures indefinitely without ever dying to combat damage.
