How it works
- Activate Thallid Soothsayer by paying 2 and sacrificing another creature, causing you to draw a card.
- An opponent's Wedding Ring's second ability triggers, causing them to draw a card.
- Xyris' first ability triggers, creating two 1/1 Snake creature tokens.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Snake, adding CC.
- Repeat.
This clever loop sets up an endless feedback cycle between card draw and creature generation once an opponent has accepted your Wedding Ring. When you use Thallid Soothsayer to sacrifice a creature and draw a card, your opponent's matching Wedding Ring triggers them to draw as well, immediately waking up Xyris, the Writhing Storm to flood the board with Snake tokens. Parallel Lives doubles that token production to ensure you always have extra fodder on hand, which Ashnod's Altar then turns into the colorless mana needed to pay for the Thallid Soothsayer activation.
