How it works
- Activate Thallid Soothsayer by paying 2 and sacrificing another creature, causing you to draw a card.
- An opponent's Wedding Ring's second ability triggers, causing them to draw a card.
- Xyris's first ability triggers, creating a 1/1 Snake and a 1/1 Squirrel creature token.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Snake, adding CC.
- Repeat.
This engine turns the reciprocal nature of Wedding Ring into a massive card-drawing and token-generating storm, fueled cleanly by Ashnod's Altar providing the mana to keep the loop going. By using Thallid Soothsayer to draw a card, you trigger your opponent's Wedding Ring on their turn, which in turn wakes up Xyris, the Writhing Storm to flood the board with Snake tokens. Meanwhile, Chatterfang, Squirrel General watches every token enter and doubles your production by spawning an equal number of Squirrels alongside them, giving you a steady stream of sacrifices to feed back into the Altar and the Soothsayer.
