How it works
- Activate Thallid Soothsayer by paying 2 and sacrificing another creature, causing you to draw a card.
- An opponent's Wedding Ring's second ability triggers, causing them to draw a card.
- Xyris' first ability triggers, creating two 1/1 Snake creature tokens.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Snake, adding CC.
- Repeat.
This loop transforms a modest engine into an explosive, self-sustaining celebration of card draw and creature generation. It all begins when you crack open your deck using Thallid Soothsayer's ability, sacrificing a creature to draw a card. That draw immediately provokes your opponent's copy of Wedding Ring to draw them a card as well, which in turn causes Xyris, the Writhing Storm's ability to trigger and flood the board with tokens. Primal Vigor ensures that every single one of those generated tokens is doubled, providing an abundant surplus of fodder. You can then feed those newly minted tokens right into Ashnod's Altar to generate the colorless mana needed to fund Thallid Soothsayer once more, keeping the entire cycle spinning indefinitely.
