How it works
- Activate Thallid Soothsayer by paying 2 and sacrificing another creature, causing you to draw a card.
- An opponent's Wedding Ring's second ability triggers, causing them to draw a card.
- Xyris' first ability triggers, creating two 1/1 Snake creature tokens.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Snake, adding CC.
- Repeat.
This clever loop leverages your opponent's copy of Wedding Ring to turn your own card draw right back around on them. By paying into Thallid Soothsayer's ability, you draw a card, which forces your opponent to draw from their Wedding Ring; that extra card draw then triggers Xyris, the Writhing Storm to flood the board with Snake tokens. Thanks to Adrix and Nev, Twincasters doubling your token generation, you get twice as many Snakes to feed back into Ashnod's Altar for the mana you need to keep the Thallid Soothsayer engine running.
