How it works

1. Activate Bolas's Citadel by tapping it and sacrificing ten other nonland permanents you control.
2. Ashnod the Uncaring triggers, copying Bolas's Citadel's ability.
3. Resolve both Bolas's Citadel abilities, causing each opponent to lose 20 life.
4. Each opponent that had 20 or less life loses the game due to having 0 or less life.
5. Activate Voltaic Key by paying 1 and tapping it, untapping Bolas's Citadel.
6. Activate Bolas's Citadel by tapping it and sacrificing itself, Voltaic Key, and eight other nonland permanents you control.
7. Ashnod the Uncaring triggers, copying Bolas's Citadel's ability.
8. Resolve both Bolas's Citadel abilities, causing each opponent to lose 20 life.
9. Each remaining opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

This devastating loop uses Ashnod the Uncaring as a ruthless multiplier, taking advantage of her ability to copy non-mana activated abilities that require a sacrifice. When you activate Bolas's Citadel by paying its heavy ten-permanents cost, Ashnod doubles the massive life-drain trigger, turning a single activation into a devastating twenty life loss for your opponents. Voltaic Key then steps in to untap the Citadel so you can immediately fire off the ability a second time—this time sacrificing the Key itself along with the Citadel and eight other permanents—to finish off any remaining life totals and close out the game.
