How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Phantasmal Image.
2. When Phantasmal Image dies, its last ability from Cavalier of Night triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Cavalier of Night.
3. When Phantasmal Image enters the battlefield, its first triggered ability from Cavalier of Night triggers; choose not to sacrifice a creature.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever recursive loop turns Bartolomé del Presidio into a bottomless pit of sacrifice outlets, endlessly feeding your board state. By using Bartolomé del Presidio to feed away Phantasmal Image—which is currently copying Cavalier of Night—you trigger the genuine Cavalier of Night death effect hidden within the clone's adopted text box. That dying trigger reaches right back into your graveyard to pull Phantasmal Image straight back to the battlefield, allowing it to enter anew as another copy of Cavalier of Night and seamlessly restart the engine.
