How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Phantasmal Image, adding .
2. When Phantasmal Image dies, it triggers, causing you to mill six cards and return Unearth and up to one other instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Unearth by paying , returning Phantasmal Image from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Kairi.
4. Repeat.

This loop ingeniously bypasses the legend rule by having Phantasmal Image enter as a copy of Kairi, the Swirling Sky, which conveniently shares a mana value of 3 so it can be repeatedly targeted by Unearth from your graveyard. Once Kairi's cloned copy is sacrificed to Phyrexian Altar for mana, its own death trigger kicks in to continuously mill your library and recycle your spells—most importantly Unearth itself—right back to your hand. Meanwhile, Council of Reeds sits safely on the battlefield, making sure that its own presence or any other unique setup remains unimpeded, completing an airtight engine that generates infinite sacrifices, deaths, and graveyard recursion.
