How it works

  1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Woodfall Primus.
  2. When Woodfall Primus dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  3. When Woodfall Primus enters, it triggers, destroying a noncreature permanent.
  4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Woodfall Primus.
  5. When Woodfall Primus dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
  6. When Woodfall Primus enters, it triggers, destroying a noncreature permanent.
  7. Repeat.
