How it works

  1. Play Dryad Arbor.
  2. When Dryad Arbor enters, Tourach's Chant and Terror of the Peaks trigger.
  3. Resolve the Tourach's Chant trigger, putting a -1/-1 counter on Dryad Arbor.
  4. Dryad Arbor dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness, triggering its undying ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  5. When Dryad Arbor enters, Tourach's Chant and Terror of the Peaks trigger.
  6. Resolve the Tourach's Chant trigger, putting a -1/-1 counter on Dryad Arbor.
  7. Resolve the Terror of the Peaks trigger, dealing damage to Dryad Arbor.
  8. Repeat from step 4.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever interplay of stat-buffs and counter mechanics to melt your opponents' life totals. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed provides your non-Human creatures with undying, allowing Dryad Arbor to return to the battlefield whenever it dies. Since Dryad Arbor is also a land, its entry triggers Tourach's Chant, forcing you to place a -1/-1 counter on it that immediately neutralizes the +1/+1 counter from undying and sends the land right back to the graveyard. Finally, every time this land enters the battlefield, Terror of the Peaks uses its power to deal damage directly to any target, turning this endless cycle of life and death into a lethal barrage.
