How it works

1. Kill Dread Slaver.
2. When Dread Slaver dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Dread Slaver enters the battlefield, Flayer of the Hatebound triggers, causing Dread Slaver to deal damage to itself equal to its power.
4. Dread Slaver dies as a state-based action due to its deathtouch.
5. Dread Slaver triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop revolves around Mikaeus, the Unhallowed granting undying to Dread Slaver, allowing it to return from the graveyard with a +1/+1 counter whenever it perishes. Because Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats grants deathtouch to all your other creatures, Dread Slaver naturally possesses deathtouch, meaning any damage it deals to itself is immediately lethal. When Dread Slaver enters the battlefield, Flayer of the Hatebound spots the creature entering from the graveyard and forces it to deal damage equal to its power to itself—instantly killing it via deathtouch and restarting the entire cycle. This triggers Flayer of the Hatebound over and over again to blast any target for infinite damage while generating endless entry and death triggers.
