This clever loop relies on a clever mechanical interaction between two opposing mechanics: persist and undying. Because Mikaeus, the Unhallowed grants undying to your non-Human creatures, Furystoke Giant enters the battlefield with the ability to trigger either undying or persist when it dies, depending on which counters it currently wears. By sacrificing Furystoke Giant to Carrion Feeder, you send the Giant to the graveyard, where its counters cancel out each time it returns—persist brings it back with a -1/-1 counter, and the subsequent death with that counter allows undying to bring it back with a +1/+1 counter. This perpetual cycle grows Carrion Feeder infinitely large while generating an endless stream of sacrifice, death, and entry triggers.
