How it works

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the nontoken, non-Human white creature, adding CC.
  2. When the creature dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it to the battlefield from your graveyard with a +1/+1 counter on it.
  3. Activate Antler Skulkin by paying 2, giving the creature persist until end of turn.
  4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature, adding CC.
  5. When the creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it to the battlefield from your graveyard with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  6. Repeat.

This elegant engine relies on a clever mechanical dance between Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Antler Skulkin to continuously rewrite a white creature's destiny in the graveyard. By leveraging Mikaeus, the Unhallowed to grant undying, the creature returns with a +1/+1 counter, which then smoothly counterbalances the persist ability granted by Antler Skulkin's active activation. Ashnod's Altar acts as the sacrificial engine that converts this endless cycle of life and death into a bounty of infinite colorless mana and boundless trigger events.
