How it works

  1. Play Dryad Arbor.
  2. When Dryad Arbor enters, Tourach's Chant and Marauding Raptor trigger.
  3. Resolve the Tourach's Chant trigger, putting a -1/-1 counter on Dryad Arbor.
  4. Dryad Arbor dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness, triggering its undying ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  5. When Dryad Arbor enters, Tourach's Chant and Marauding Raptor trigger.
  6. Resolve the Tourach's Chant trigger, putting a -1/-1 counter on Dryad Arbor.
  7. Resolve the Marauding Raptor trigger, dealing damage to Dryad Arbor.
  8. Repeat from step 4.

This loop turns a simple land drop into an endless cycle of destruction and rebirth by cleverly exploiting the interplay of counter placement and creature survival. When you bring Dryad Arbor into play, Marauding Raptor and Tourach's Chant both trigger, allowing Tourach's Chant to apply a -1/-1 counter that instantly drops the land's toughness to zero. As Dryad Arbor hits the graveyard, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed steps in to grant it undying, bringing it right back to the battlefield with a +1/-1 counter that neatly cancels out its existing -1/-1 counter. This resets the whole process, letting you repeat the cycle indefinitely to farm infinite landfalls, enter-the-battlefield, leave-the-battlefield, and death triggers.
