How it works

1. Activate Blood Pet by sacrificing it, adding .
2. When Blood Pet dies, its undying ability and Sifter of Skulls trigger.
3. Resolve the Blood Pet trigger, returning it to the battlefield from your graveyard with a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Sifter of Skulls trigger, creating a 1/1 Eldrazi Scion creature token.
5. Activate the Eldrazi Scion by sacrificing it, adding C.
6. Activate Hex Parasite by paying 1B/P and removing the +1/+1 counter from Blood Pet, giving Hex Parasite +1/+0 until end of turn.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, whose passive lord effect grants undying to all your non-Human creatures—crucially allowing Blood Pet to return to the battlefield whenever it dies, provided it has no +1/+1 counters. Each time Blood Pet is sacrificed for black mana, Sifter of Skulls triggers to spawn a supportive Eldrazi Scion token, which you can then sacrifice for colorless mana to fuel Hex Parasite's activated ability. By targeting the returning Blood Pet with Hex Parasite, you strip away its newly placed +1/+1 counter, resetting its undying trigger so the whole engine can repeat indefinitely.
