How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Scuzzback Marauders.
2. When Scuzzback Marauders dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
4. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Scuzzback Marauders.
5. When Scuzzback Marauders dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
7. Repeat.

This loop relies on a clever mechanical interaction between opposing counter types to endlessly recycle your creatures. When you use Bartolomé del Presidio to sacrifice Scuzzback Marauders, its persist ability brings it back with a -1/-1 counter, but Mikaeus, the Unhallowed grants it undying so it returns with a +1/+1 counter on the next iteration; state-based actions then cause these two counters to annihilate each other, leaving the Marauders clean and ready to die all over again.
