How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Defiant Greatmaw.
2. When Defiant Greatmaw dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Defiant Greatmaw enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, putting two -1/-1 counters on it.
4. Defiant Greatmaw's second ability triggers, removing a -1/-1 counter from another creature you control.
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability from step 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop is anchored by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, whose static ability grants undying to all of your non-Human creatures, ensuring they return to the battlefield whenever they perish without a +1/+1 counter. Defiant Greatmaw takes advantage of this by entering the battlefield to place two -1/-1 counters on itself, which immediately triggers its own second ability to clean up a counter elsewhere, while also setting up its inevitable death so it can return via Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Meanwhile, Carrion Feeder acts as the designated executioner, gladly sacrificing Defiant Greatmaw on demand to grow ever larger while fueling the endless cycle of rebirth.
