How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Defiant Greatmaw.
2. When Defiant Greatmaw dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Defiant Greatmaw enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, putting two -1/-1 counters on it.
4. Defiant Greatmaw's second ability triggers, removing a -1/-1 counter from another creature you control.
5. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability from step 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Defiant Greatmaw into a self-consuming engine, supercharged by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed granting it undying so it keeps returning to the battlefield despite its demise. When the Greatmaw re-enters, its own entry trigger forces it to shoulder two -1/-1 counters, which immediately triggers its second ability to strip away any lingering counters while Bloodflow Connoisseur is fed sacrifices to grow ever larger. Because Mikaeus's static +1/+1 buff neatly cancels out the Greatmaw's -1/-1 counters upon entry, the undying ability resets fresh each time the Greatmaw dies, letting you sacrifice it indefinitely to the Bloodflow Connoisseur for boundless sacrificial power.
