How it works

1. Activate Workhorse by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding C.
2. Repeat step 1 until Workhorse does not have any +1/+1 counters on it.
3. Workhorse dies as a state-based action due to having zero toughness.
4. Workhorse's undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with five +1/+1 counters on it.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Workhorse into an endless battery by leveraging the passive stat modifiers of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Kaervek, the Spiteful. While Mikaeus grants your non-Human creatures undying and a +1/+1 buff, Kaervek's static ability slaps a simultaneous -1/-1 penalty onto those same creatures, neatly neutralizing Mikaeus's bonus toughness and leaving Workhorse with a base toughness of zero. This delicate balance means that whenever Workhorse strips away its own counters for mana and collapses into the graveyard, its undying ability triggers to bring it right back to the battlefield with fresh counters, ready to fuel the cycle all over again.
