How it works
Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Hero.
When Optimus Prime, Hero dies, its second ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
When Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader dies, Mikaeus triggers, returning Optimus Prime from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Hero with a +1/+1 counter on it.
Resolve both Bartolomé del Presidio abilities from steps 1 and 3, putting two +1/+1 counters on it.
Repeat.
This clever loop transforms a mechanical quirk of double-faced cards into a persistent cycle of rebirth, anchored by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed granting undying to your non-Human creatures. When you sacrifice Optimus Prime, Hero to Bartolomé del Presidio, its own death trigger returns it to the battlefield converted as Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader. Sacrificing that front face to Bartolomé del Presidio once more sends it to the graveyard, where Mikaeus, the Unhallowed's static undying ability steps in to return it back to its original front face, resetting the loop. Because the card changes its identity and character each time it flips, it evades the counter-based restriction that would normally stop undying from triggering repeatedly, leaving Bartolomé del Presidio permanently growing with endless +1/+1 counters.
