How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing another nontoken non-Human creature
2. When the creature dies, its undying ability triggers, returning the creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing the creature with a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. When the creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio abilities from step 1 and 3.
6. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in counter-cancellation, orchestrated by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed granting undying to your non-Human creatures while Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn / Isilu, Carrier of Twilight provides the counterpart persist ability in its twilight form. Because Mikaeus also pumps your other non-Human creatures with a static +1/+1 bonus, any creature caught in this cycle returns with a +1/+1 counter from undying, which neatly wipes away any -1/-1 counters left behind by persist when it dies again.
