How it works

1. Activate Atog by sacrificing Grim Poppet.
2. When Grim Poppet dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a +1/+1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. Resolve the Atog ability
4. Repeat.

This delightful loop relies on Mikaeus, the Unhallowed to grant undying to our artifacts and creatures alike, turning every trip to the graveyard into a fresh arrival. By feeding Grim Poppet to Atog, we send the Poppet away so it can immediately return to the battlefield with a fresh lease on life and its -1/-1 counters neatly reset. Because Mikaeus pumps up non-Humans, it conveniently helps counteract or offset various states, while Atog happily converts this endless cycle of sacrifices into an arbitrarily massive threat.
