This cunning resurrection loop relies on a brilliant rules interaction between persist and undying to squeeze infinite value out of a single sacrifice outlet. By using Goblin Bombardment to continually hurl Thunderblust at any target, you trigger its built-in persist mechanic to bring it back with a -1/-1 counter; however, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is there to grant it undying as well, which counters the next death with a +1/+1 counter instead. Because these opposing counters elegantly annihilate each other state-based-wise every time Thunderblust returns, the creature can alternate endlessly between persist and undying triggers. The result is an unstoppable engine of infinite death triggers and lethal damage, fueled entirely by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed's static buff and the tireless sacrifice fodder of Thunderblust and Goblin Bombardment.
