How it works

1. Activate Lithatog's first ability by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Hero.
2. When Optimus Prime, Hero dies, its second ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
3. Activate Lithatog's first ability by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
4. When Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader dies, Mikaeus triggers, returning Optimus Prime from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Hero with a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Resolve both Lithatog abilities from steps 1 and 3, giving it +2/+2 until end of turn.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the constant, back-and-forth transformation of Optimus Prime, Hero // Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader as it cycles through the graveyard. You use Lithatog as a handy sacrifice outlet to send Optimus Prime to the graveyard repeatedly, triggering its own built-in resurrection to flip its form. Meanwhile, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed provides the crucial lord effect and grants undying to non-Human creatures, allowing the back side to return with a +1/+1 counter whenever it perishes. By alternating which face of Optimus Prime is sacrificed, you bypass the counter restriction on undying to generate an endless cycle of leaves-the-battlefield, enters-the-battlefield, and death triggers while pumping Lithatog to astronomical proportions.
