How it works

1. Activate Warren Soultrader by paying 1 life and sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers if it didn't have a -1/-1 counter on it, and its undying ability triggers if it didn't have a +1/+1 counter on it. Syr Vondam also triggers regardless.
3. Resolve the Syr Vondam trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and putting a +1/+1 counter on Syr Vondam.
4. Resolve the persist trigger, if applicable, returning the creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the undying trigger, if applicable, returning the creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Resolve the Warren Soultrader ability, creating a Treasure token.
7. Repeat

This clever loop turns Warren Soultrader into an endless engine by leveraging the passive buff from Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Because Mikaeus grants your non-Human creatures undying, sacrificing a creature to Warren Soultrader triggers its return to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter, offsetting any prior counters and letting the cycle repeat indefinitely. Meanwhile, Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar sits back and happily cashes in on every single death trigger, generating infinite life and growing larger with endless +1/+1 counters.
