How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Otherworldly Escort.
2. When Otherworldly Escort dies, it triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield as a Spirit Detective.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
4. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Otherworldly Escort.
5. When Otherworldly Escort dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around sacrificing Otherworldly Escort to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, turning each sacrifice into a steady stream of Blood tokens while exploiting the creature's multiple overlapping resurrection clauses. Because Otherworldly Escort returns itself with charge counters the first time it dies and loses its Human type, subsequent deaths allow Mikaeus, the Unhallowed to step in and grant it undying, bringing it back with a +1/+1 counter instead. This alternating cycle resets its state indefinitely, letting Shilgengar sacrifice it over and over to generate infinite artifacts, triggers, and fodder.
